(AP) The United States has been awarded the highest ranking for dental health care in the world, but it’s not the only one.
Wisconsin’s Madison Family Dentistry earned the top honor for the second consecutive year.
The award was announced Monday at the United States Chamber of Commerce’s annual convention.
The state’s family dentist ranks fourth in the U.S. for patient satisfaction, the AP reports.
The U.N. International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) says dental cancer is the third-leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide.
The American Academy of Family Dentists says the award goes to “an outstanding family practice that delivers quality dental care and provides care in communities throughout Wisconsin.”
The Wisconsin Family Dentist’s president, Bill Schoener, told the Associated Press that it was important to recognize that the family practice has been working with the state to improve care for patients since it was founded in 2008.
Schoener says the state has been in contact with the family dentist to improve patient care.
We’re proud to have a place in the national dental health agenda that recognizes our work and our commitment to quality patient care,” he said.
