Tiptons Lakes, New Jersey — Family dentist Markham’s body was flown to New York City for burial Sunday morning after his funeral was postponed.
The family of Markham, 51, died at 8:40 a.m. after an emergency room doctor at the Mount Sinai Hospital said his heart stopped, according to the Los Angeles Times.
His wife, Krista, died of heart failure at the hospital.
Tiptons’ family, including his parents, is from a prominent Philadelphia family, according the Times.
Markham was an assistant to Dr. Daniel D. Pankratz at the New York Presbyterian Medical Center and a fellow physician at Johns Hopkins University, the newspaper said.
He also served as director of pediatric dentistry at Temple Beth Israel Medical Center in Philadelphia.
A funeral service was held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Tipp City, and a memorial service for Markham will be held Sunday afternoon at 7 p.m., according to ABC affiliate KXAN.
