A few weeks ago, the dentist of a Long Beach family who was once the best in town took out a $30,000 home equity line of credit on the advice of his wife.
He did not want to do anything rash, but that was not the case.
“It’s really hard to say how long I’ve been doing it,” he said.
“The only thing I can say is I’ve done it for about four years.”
But now that the credit has been repaid, the dental school graduate is not sure how he’ll ever pay back the loan.
More importantly, his wife is concerned he might not be able to pay for dental care after his kids go to college.
“I don’t want to give up,” said his wife, Linda.
“My kids are going to college in the fall.
And if I don’t pay, I don`t know what they’re going to do.
They might lose their dental insurance.”
While some dentists may be doing more than their share of work to make sure patients are covered, the New Yorkers who have been doing this work for a long time may be able do more.
It is not uncommon for patients to get bills from a family dentist that is paid through the hospital’s insurance, or from a private dental insurance company that will pay the bill directly.
But that practice is frowned upon because it has a high risk of making a patient wait months for treatment.
There are some exceptions.
When a family member is at home and unable to work because of a serious illness or accident, a dentist can get a loan from a hospital or a private insurer.
In addition, if a patient is covered by Medicare, a doctor can get the money directly from the government through the Veterans Health Administration, which provides dental care to veterans.
But the majority of patients who are not covered by Medicaid are not able to get dental care from a dentist who is not a licensed dentist.
And while many dentists are licensed to practice, they may be practicing without proper documentation, or may not have proper insurance.
The situation is so dire that the state recently passed a law requiring that every dentist licensed in New York state must get a health insurance card.
For a long-time dentist, this is not easy.
Dr. Joseph Lecomte is one of the doctors who has been treating patients in Queens, Long Beach and other Long Island communities for years.
Lecommte is not only a doctor, he is also a dental hygienist, a pediatrician and a practicing pediatrician.
He said he has worked with thousands of patients for years, but this is the first time he is going to be taking on a whole family.
I just want to help these families, he said, because I think I can help the patients who have a little bit of difficulty.
“I have seen a lot more of my patients who need help,” he added.
“I’ve seen so many people with their kids that are under 18.
It`s heartbreaking to see.”
The dental practice that Lecome and his wife have been practicing for over a decade is now closing and they plan to go back to school to become dentists.
Lecomme is worried that the city may soon pass a law that requires dentists to get a dental card, or that there might be restrictions on dental work.
He said that the New Jersey legislature passed such a law in 2013 and that it was not implemented.
A dental license can make a dentist’s practice more efficient, Lecoma said.
He has also seen some dentist licensees make mistakes with their practices and not properly check up on patients.
He is concerned about the long-term impact of a state law that would prevent dentists from working in the city.
“We can have a dentists’ bill of rights that we want, but if it’s going to get in the way of my work, I want it to be in the right place,” he explained.
According to Lecomas’ wife, it is hard to get the credit when the dental work is done.
One day, when Linda Lecomi saw her husband practicing, she told him, “You’re doing a bad job.”
“It`s been my family business for 50 years,” Linda said.
She is also concerned that the health insurance that Lecoome is covered through will go away.
She said she hopes the insurance company will pay for the dental bills.
Dr. David Fritsch, who has worked in New Jersey for about 30 years, said that there are a lot worse things than dentistry.
As a practicing dentist, he worries that there may be a shortage of people with dental insurance, and that this will put dentists at a disadvantage. F
