A New York family dentist has been charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy.
A man is in custody in the incident, police said.
The suspect, identified as Eric W. Gagnon, was charged Wednesday with criminal sexual act and criminal sexual contact, New York State Police said in a statement.
He was being held without bail.
Gagnon did not immediately return messages seeking comment.
Gagelon, 51, is a dental technician and dentist at New York’s Dental Center of the Finger Lakes, according to the dentists Facebook page.
The victim, a 13 year old boy, had been at a home for about a week when Gagnons wife and son found the boy naked and “bored and undressed,” according to police.
They went to the boy’s home, where Gagnones wife discovered a backpack, police told ABC News.
The boy’s mother confronted Gagn on his cellphone, telling him to leave and “go away,” according the police statement.
Gaguon told her that she was taking pictures of her son and was “going to go and get some pictures taken,” police said in the statement.
When he told her she was making pictures of the boy, the mother went back to her car, pulled over, and pulled out her cellphone, police stated.
The girl told her father she was scared, police continued.
The mother called 911 and said Gagn had hit her son.
Gaguon and his wife returned to the home and left.
The victim’s mother called police, police later said.
Gugelon has been a dentist at the Dental Office of the Grand Valley State University since 2010, according the dental school’s website.
He has been suspended from the dental program pending an investigation, a statement from the Doral Office of Dentistry read.
